Course Overview
Do you ever wonder if you are doing enough for your periodontal patients? Have you ever worried that there might be more you could do to stop the progression of their disease? This lecture will be of interest to all clinicians involved in the care of periodontal patients. Supportive periodontal therapy (SPT) is an evidence based approach that involves a risk assessment process to determine patient needs. You will be shown how to recognise high risk situations and how to manage them. You will be shown what to do when your patient's periodontal health simply isn’t improving’. A detailed explanation of the theory behind SPT will be provided, as well as how to apply this to real world clinical scenarios.
