This lecture is designed for the entire dental team, including Dentists, Oral Health Therapists, Dental Therapists, Hygienists, Practice Managers and Dental Assistants.

Course Overview

Do you ever wonder if you are doing enough for your periodontal patients? Have you ever worried that there might be more you could do to stop the progression of their disease? Supportive periodontal therapy (SPT) is an evidence based approach that involves a risk assessment process to determine patient needs. You will be shown how to recognise high risk situations and how to manage them. You will be shown what to do when your patient's periodontal health simply isn’t improving’. A detailed explanation of the theory behind SPT will be provided, as well as how to apply this to real world clinical scenarios.
