Dental trauma generally affects the incisor teeth, and most often in children. Injuries to these teeth impact on the smiles of those afflicted. The purpose of this presentation is to outline the pulpal and periodontal responses to dental trauma of the teeth and when treatment is required.
The lecture will draw upon multiple case studies to discuss:
- How to classify traumatic injuries to the teeth
- How to create tailored management plans
- Root resorption
- The International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) 2020 guidelines, and the changes from the previous 2012 guidelines
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Correctly diagnosis and manage dental trauma
- Practically apply the IADT 2020 guidelines
- Review and manage root resorption following trauma
