Course overview
This course will enable participants to become competent in the administration of Relative Analgesia in clinical practice. The course is also an excellent refresher for dentists wishing to update their theory and practical skills in the delivery of Nitrous Oxide Sedation (Relative Analgesia). Participants will be given the opportunity to administer Nitrous Oxide sedation, and to experience for themselves the effects of Relative Analgesia in a safe and controlled environment.
This course meets the standards of the International Federation of Dental Anaesthesiology Societies.

presenter BIOGRAPHY
Dr Greg Mahoney
BDSc, GradDipClinDent, MSc(Dent), PhD, FADI, FPFA and President of ASDA
Dr Mahoney has a full time private practice dealing with the anxious patient and has been involved in sedation research for the past 14 years. He is a highly experienced dentist with over 30 years experience and holds a number of key positions in prominent dental associations in Australia. His ongoing education has kept him at the forefront of new developments in dentistry such as ‘sleep dentistry’ and developing better methods of predicting when patients are likely to develop dental issues between normally scheduled dental appointments.
Dr Christine Cordery
Dr Christine Cordery is an AHPRA-endorsed sedation practitioner with a mobile private dental sedation practice across SEQLD and NNSW. She started treating anxious patients in the Air Force 29 years ago which culminated as the most senior dentist in the permanent force. She has consulted nationally on clinical committees, been a member of training advisory groups, developed policies and manuals for dental sedation, as well as delivered training and rewarding mentorships to new dental officers over three decades. As the current President of the Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology, Christine is passionate about supporting dentists to manage their patients’ pain and anxiety, so that they have positive dental experiences and avoid future phobias.
