Maxillofacial malignancies and potentially malignant oral lesions have a multitude of presentations, though clinical changes such as white and/or red patches are often noted. As dental professionals, we look in the mouths of every patient, and must be thorough and vigilant in our clinical examinations to ensure early detection and appropriate management of potential malignancy. This presentation will cover the clinical assessment of potential oral malignancy, including tips on when and how to refer.
