President's Update - Mar 2021
Wednesday, 24 March 2021
Hello and welcome to the March edition of the ADAQ E-News. Easter is fast approaching - in case you haven’t noticed all the Easter eggs at every supermarket practically since Christmas. The ADAQ office will be closed for the break from 5 pm on Thursday 1st April. We’ll be back again, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at 8:30 am on Tuesday 6th April.
It’s also the time of year when we need to think about membership renewal coming up soon, and that means checking that your details are correctly recorded by ADAQ. The past year has shown us how important our ADAQ membership is, so please check and ensure your information is up to date.
Every member who makes an update goes into the draw for one of three Visa gift cards, with a maximum value of $500, and every student member goes into a draw to win a limited-release ADAQ merchandise pack.

These simple devices can prevent severe damage to the teeth, jaws and tongue when they’re properly constructed and fitted. So talk to your sports-involved patients of any age or skill level about how they can mouthguards to prevent injuries and avoid costly repairs or disfigurement.

Queensland Health has made a fantastic patient education poster about the COVID-19 vaccination rollout available to us. You can download it through the link in this newsletter and it can be printed and hung in your waiting room. This is a great opportunity to emphasise to our patients the importance of getting vaccinated. I encourage you to display this information where it is easily seen by patients and help get authoritative vaccination information out into the Community.

Finally, don’t forget that the Dental Mirror, our premier member publication, comes out four times a year and contains important news, information as well as clinical articles by our leading clinicians. Never miss an edition – access the latest copy on our website, as well as all previous editions back to February 2018.

Enjoy Easter, don’t eat too much chocolate (however much that is!), and I look forward to seeing you again next month. Stay safe!
